Brain Health

Struggling with fatigue, cognitive dysfunction (attention, concentration, and executive functions), memory impairment, or aphasia?

We address brain health with diet, lifestyle, therapies and nootropics.

The word “nootropics” may sound like a made-up term, but it’s utilized commonly in the medical community to describe a class of drugs that intend to enhance cognition in different methods.

Nootropics are used to improve memory, focus, and concentration, and they can help improve general cognitive function. These range from vitamins+ minerals to special intravenous nutrients + coenzymes. When paired with regenerative therapeutics, we are seeing amazing results with our patients.

Traumatic Brain Injury

Neuroinflammation is becoming more and more associated with a host of downstream comorbidities including depression, anxiety, addictive behavior, dementia and others. Concussion and the traumatic brain injury that follows can be devastating to the health and long term quality of life for those affected. It has been suggested that the delayed neuroinflammatory response to concussions is more damaging than the initial impact itself.

Many injuries don’t show up on imaging – including MRI, CT scans. We work on specific treatments to re-establish function and work on the health of the nervous system — tailored to each patient.

In our clinical experience, no single therapy equals the synergy of a multifaceted approach. The combination of the therapies mentioned below, as well as many others known in integrative medicine, are the best approach for the patient with TBI, mild TBI, and post concussion syndrome as advised by your doctor.

A Multifaceted Therapy Approach May Include:

Neurosteroids are the CNS steroids involved in the anti-inflammatory activity as well as the repair mechanisms of the nervous system. In studies, Neurosteroids are also showing promise in the therapy of TBI. The most studies of neurosteroids include Pregnenolone, Progesterone and more recently DHEA. The effects of the neurosteroids are opposed by estrogens in the CNS.

The optimization of DHEA levels and the use of Pregnenolone and Progesterone as therapeutic interventions have shown in our clinical experience to be synergistic in the treatment of TBI and mTBI.
