Meditation
Meditation is a part of a well-rounded yoga practice.
Yoga is not about reaching, it is about letting go of everything that prevents the light of our inner self from illuminating our moments. It is more about letting go of everything that prevents us from experiencing who we already are.
Meditation promotes this dive into ourselves. It promotes empathy, compassion and resiliency within, and thereby allowing us to exude these qualities for others. Meditation stimulates areas of the nervous system related to positive emotions. It increases the secretion of serotonin and endorphins.
Meditation is known to:
-
Improve overall physical, mental, and emotional health
-
Decrease stress
-
Alleviate anxiety and depression
-
Manage chronic pain
-
Improve sleep
The meditation techniques CJ teaches are simple to practice and can be incorporated in everyday life.
Yoga
Most already know that yoga can increase strength, improve flexibility, and ease aches and pains. But there are many benefits yoga offers for wellness that extend beyond the mat.
Studies show yoga works to improve health, heal aches and pains, and keep sickness at bay. Additional benefits regularly experienced with yoga practice are wide and exist in many layers.
Yoga helps drain lymph, in turn helping to fight infection, destroy cancerous cells, and dispose of toxic waste products of cellular function.
Yoga can also help regulate your adrenals by lowering cortisol levels that tend to remain elevated for a long time after an initial stressor. Excessive cortisol has been linked with major depression, osteoporosis, high blood pressure and diabetes.
Yoga encourages you to relax, slow your breath, and focus on the present, shifting the balance from the fight-or-flight response to the relaxed parasympathetic nervous system. This calming and restorative; it lowers breathing and heart rates, decreases blood pressure, and increases blood flow to the intestines and reproductive organs.
Regularly practicing yoga improves balance. People with bad posture or dysfunctional movement patterns usually have poor proprioception, which has been linked to knee problems and back pain. Better balance could also mean fewer falls.
Experience the peace and inner ease from the practice that fits your needs.
