Longevity medicine consultation with Dr. Angelina Mehta at Verve Holistic Health in Tustin, CA

You Are Not Trying to Live Forever. You Are Trying to Still Be Yourself at 75.

Lifespan is how long you live. Healthspan is how long you live well — sharp, strong, mobile, energetic, independent. For most Americans, those two numbers are separated by a decade or more of decline that nobody planned for.

Longevity medicine at Verve is about closing that gap.

Is This For You?

Most people who come to us for longevity care are not sick. That is exactly the point.

This may be a fit if you:

  • Feel like your energy, recovery, or sharpness is not what it was five years ago — but your labs came back “normal”
  • Watched a parent’s health decline and decided you want a different trajectory
  • Are in your 40s or 50s, busy, high-performing, and aware that you have been running on borrowed time
  • Already train, eat well, and sleep decently — and want to know what to do next
  • Want your care to look forward, not just react

This may not be the right fit if you:

  • Are looking for a single injection or IV that solves everything
  • Want treatment without testing
  • Are dealing with a medical emergency — that needs urgent or emergency care first, and we are glad to see you once you are stable

What Longevity Medicine Actually Is

Conventional medicine is extraordinarily good at rescuing you once something breaks. It is not designed to tell you what is quietly drifting a decade before it breaks.

Longevity medicine works the other direction. It looks at the systems that tend to fail first — metabolic, cardiovascular, hormonal, inflammatory, cognitive, and musculoskeletal — and asks a different question: where is this person actually headed, and what can we change now?

At Verve, that means combining conventional diagnostics with the naturopathic principles this practice was built on: find the root cause, work with the body’s own repair systems, and treat the whole person rather than a lab value in isolation.

Verve means vitality. Longevity care is simply that idea extended across decades instead of across a single visit.

How It Works

Phase 1 — Establish your baseline
A comprehensive intake with Dr. Mehta covering your health history, family history, current function, and what you actually want your next thirty years to look like. Goals get specific here — “climb Saddleback at 70,” “keep working at the level I work now,” “never move in with my kids.”

Phase 2 — Measure what matters
Advanced testing that goes well past a standard annual panel. We look at metabolic function, cardiovascular risk markers, inflammatory signaling, hormone status, nutrient sufficiency, gut function, and environmental exposures — chosen based on your history, not ordered as a fixed bundle.

Phase 3 — Build your plan
A prioritized, written roadmap. Nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress load come first, because they carry the most weight and cost the least. Targeted therapies are layered in where the testing supports them, and where they fit your goals and budget.

Phase 4 — Track and adjust
Longevity work is not a one-time visit. We retest, review what moved, and adjust. Progress you can see in your numbers and, more importantly, in how you feel.

What We May Assess

Testing is individualized. Dr. Mehta selects panels based on your history and goals — not everyone needs everything.

Domain Why it matters
Metabolic health Insulin resistance develops years before blood sugar looks abnormal, and it drives much of what we call aging.
Cardiovascular markers Advanced lipid and inflammatory markers reveal risk that a standard cholesterol panel can miss entirely.
Hormone status Thyroid, adrenal, and sex hormones shape energy, body composition, mood, sleep, and cognition.
Inflammation Chronic low-grade inflammation is a common thread across most age-related conditions.
Nutrient status Deficiencies that are technically “in range” can still leave you functioning well below your capacity.
Gut function Digestion and the microbiome influence immunity, mood, and how well you absorb everything else.
Environmental exposures Heavy metals and other environmental burdens accumulate quietly over decades.
Body composition & function Muscle mass and strength are among the strongest predictors of how well people age.

The Tools We May Draw On

Your plan starts with the foundation — nutrition, movement, sleep, stress, and targeted supplementation. From there, Dr. Mehta may incorporate therapies already offered at Verve where they are clinically appropriate for you:

Our protocols are tailored to each patient’s individual results. Two people walking in with the same goal often leave with very different plans, because the testing tells us different things about what each body needs.

Why Verve

A licensed naturopathic doctor leads your care. Dr. Mehta completed a four-year, accredited, post-graduate residential naturopathic medical program with training as a general practitioner, and is licensed by the California Naturopathic Medicine Committee. Naturopathic doctors are educated to diagnose, manage, and treat both acute and chronic conditions — so for many patients, Verve functions as their general practice as well as their longevity practice. Longevity here is not a product line bolted onto a med spa — it grows out of how this practice has worked since 2019.

The whole toolkit is already under one roof. Labs, IV therapy, hormone support, regenerative options, and ongoing follow-up happen in one Tustin office, with a team you will actually get to know.

Honest scope. We will tell you what the evidence supports, what is promising but early, and what we would not recommend. Careful practitioners in this field are candid about the difference, and that is the standard we hold.

Your care, structured the way you want it. Some patients keep their existing primary care physician and add longevity care at Verve. Others consolidate more of their general care here. Both work. We coordinate readily with outside physicians and specialists, and we will never ask you to give up a relationship you value in order to work with us.

Right here in Tustin. Minutes from Irvine, Santa Ana, Orange, North Tustin, and Newport Beach, with early-evening Monday hours and Saturday morning appointments for people who work.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between healthspan and lifespan?

Lifespan is total years alive. Healthspan is the portion of those years spent in good physical and cognitive health. Longevity medicine aims to extend the second number so that decline is compressed into a shorter window at the very end rather than stretched across decades.

Do I have to be a certain age to start?

No. Many patients begin in their late 30s or 40s, when there is the most room to change trajectory. That said, meaningful improvements in strength, metabolic health, and energy are possible at any age.

Is this the same as anti-aging?

Not quite. “Anti-aging” usually refers to appearance. Longevity medicine is about function — how well your body and brain work, and for how long. There is overlap, but the goal is different.

Do I have to give up my regular doctor?

Not at all — that is entirely your choice. Naturopathic doctors are trained and licensed in California as general practitioners, so some patients do shift more of their everyday care to Verve over time. Many others keep their existing physician and specialists and add longevity care alongside them. We are glad to coordinate either way, and we will not ask you to change a relationship that is working for you.

Does insurance cover this?

Longevity and preventive testing are generally not covered by insurance. We are transparent about costs before anything is ordered, and we will help you prioritize if budget is a consideration. Some testing may be billable through your insurance — we will tell you which.

How long before I notice anything?

It varies. Sleep, energy, and digestion often shift within weeks. Body composition, hormone balance, and lab markers typically take three to six months to move meaningfully. Longevity work rewards consistency, not intensity.

What happens at the first visit?

A thorough conversation. Dr. Mehta will review your history, current function, family patterns, and goals, then recommend which testing makes sense for you specifically. Nothing is ordered before you understand why.

Can I just get the testing without the program?

We do not recommend it. Advanced biomarker results without clinical interpretation tend to create anxiety rather than direction. The value is in what you do with the numbers.
